Cinder and Ella by Kelly Oram

Hello book bugs. I am Osheen Jain and today I am going to present my thoughts on Cinder and Ella by Kelly Oram.

We all want a fairy tale in our life. Some magic, a Prince charming, pumpking carriage, animal helpers. But we all know that this is never gonna happen. That’s why many people make books, movies and also serials/ soap opera on modern day fairy tales. To show us that we don’t need magic or all sort of impossible things to make a totally Disney worthy story. Some writers just totally fail at this but others write swoon worthy fairy tale retalings that make our heart burst with feelings. Thankfully this book is the later.

I was close to tears in this book many times. Yes, there were sad tears but the ones that count here were how close I’ve came to happy tears. And as far as I can remember I never had happy tears while reading a book (well maybe some of Jennifer l. Armentrout’s books).

This book starts with Cinder and Ella chating on instant messenger. They met because of a blog post on Ella’s blog about both of both of their favorite book The Druid Prince. They both had different ideas about it and through the whole book reference to this is always given. They have been chating since then which is almost about 3 years. They became best friends and secretly love each other but have never met in real life. That works for Cinder because he is an famous actor and doesn’t want their relationship to turn into one of fandom and all that stuff.

Unfortunately, on Ella’s birthday she meets an accident. After months spent in hospital and rehabilitation and the shocking news of the death of her mother in the same accident leaves her broken.

Now, her dad is given the custody of her. He left Ella and her mom when she was only 8 years old. Ella hates him for it and how much he loves his new family has gotten her jealous. Her stepmother and twin step sisters, one turns out to be good and the other has always been pure evil.

Meanwhile, Cinder thinks that Ella had died because he cannot think of any other explanation as to why would she have left him no messages for almost a year.

Finally when Ella’s psychiatric tells her to talk to her old friends, she builds up the courage to email Cinder.

But Cinder, who really is an actor, Brian, has agreed to fake engagement for the sake of publicity for his new movie.

What is gonna happen when both of them meet? How are both of them gonna react? How is the paparazzi gonna react? And Ella’s family, what will they think? Whatever that is, I promise you it will be interesting and worth your time.

Well this book didn’t had the most greatest plot line out there and yes this book did have sort of insta love but I guarantee you that if you like cheesy romance novels and/or fairy tale retalings you are going to totally fall in love with this book. The ending is epic, I would write about it but it would be a spoiler. So just get to end ’cause it’s a “they lived happily ever after” sort of thing and it brought me to happy tears.

So what are thoughts about this? Are you going to give it a go? Tell me your thoughts in the commet section below.

  1. I absolutely loved this book and I’m so glad you liked it as well. There was so much character development and the romance was perfect! Great review! 🙂
